LJ: Security breach.

So, LJ had a security breach last night. I was among the affected journals, and I had noticed it last night, but attributed it to something else entirely.

I have fixed the maliciousness this morning, but I urge all of you to check out your own journals as well.

What were the symptoms
of the breech?

Funky embedded video code added to your most recent and/or top back-dated entry (in my case, it was my Coke codes post). It also made the entry public (though mine already was), and erased all mood & music selections.

It wasn't *too* serious, but if you viewed a post that had been hacked, yours was then compromised as well. So you might've been safe in just reading my journal, as it was my back-dated post. But if you happened to read anyone else's... well, it may be worth checking out.

Well I am glad that I don't post anything to personal that needs ti be lock and that I use an apple which is less likely to get hurt by a virus and such

Well, good for you...

But your type of computer would mean nothing, ya know. It wasn't the computers under attack - it was LiveJournal's viewing cache.

I'm sure you meant that instead. ;-)
