A very yummy dinner.
The boys were just so intrigued by the purple potatoes I'd picked up at the commissary. I'd told them of their existence, but I think they had never truly believed me. While I was boiling them, it was a constant chatter between the two, wondering what they'd most taste like. (It mattered none that I continually told them they'd taste just like regular potatoes, of course.)

As I sliced the potatoes, Jack put them into the boiling pot. I thought they looked like beautiful jewels. Once the water became hot, it turned a definite green. They cooked more quickly than regular potatoes, but they may have been due to their smaller size (slightly smaller than a typical red potato). A.J. looked on as I drained the perfect slime-colored water from the pot when they were done. Inside, we peeked to find the most beautiful blue finished potatoes. Blue! I melted some butter over them, and they more resembled a deep turquoise as we ate them with a bit of salt. Mmmmm!

Ginger Teriyaki Chicken, Cheddar Broccoli pasta, boiled purple potatoes, and carrots.
